While fully security cleared, this position involved a wide range of responsibilities and requires excellent technical skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. I worked as part of an IT Team providing large-scale comms and application/hardware support to over 15 in-house companies and emergency services, as well as Priority support to BIA Employees. These duties ranged from basic cable patching/cable creation and the monitoring of over 25 servers, to solving major system problems such as maintaining the Flight Management Systems and the general upkeep of the Home Check-In SQL Server, running queries and general System maintenance. Some of my daily tasks included monitoring the Backup system, Remote Desktop Support, Active Directory Management, Flight Information Display Maintenance, Check in Maintenance and Mail Sweeper support. I also had many personal projects, both Windows and Linux based, and Enterprise-wide projects that I took part in/developed. I created a BIA Only Intranet, containing an IT Wikipedia, a MySQL Based Telephone Directory and a Network-Wide Systems Audit Utility. Recently I have commenced testing of a new MSSQL Based flight management system and am in the process of identifying bugs in this Web-based system.
